I was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri years ago as a teenager. This has lead me to be diagnosed with PCOS recently. I was wondering do anyone have any tips, as far as trying to loose weight with these conditions. I know it has been very difficult & slow with me. Not to mention the embarrassing excessive hair growth in places not wanted :noway:. So please anyone dealing with this, let me know how were you able to deal with it.

Check out the groups - there is one for us with PCOS. This is a frustrating, little understood disease that has lots of nasty side effects like the hair, fat apple body shapes, Insulin Resistance, etc. That being said, it can all be managed with a lot of determination and hard work.

Have your doctor do a glucose tolerance test with you to see if you are IR - this affects how your body processes food and ultimately what you need to do to lose weight. We have to fight twice as hard to lose weight, do half as much to gain it. Exercise, muscle building, and diet with low sugars and carbs are the ideal combo. Stay away from soy (false estrogen) as much as you can, in my opinion.

Just never give up on yourself - you are worth the battle!
