Really need to learn how to eat out my husband likes to surprise me by picking me up from work for surprise date nights and with our kids i don't want to give those up. Any suggestions........

Only eat half of your dinner and take the rest home. My kids are always excited to get leftovers from our date nights.0

If you get a salad, get the dressing on the side so you can control the amount you eat.
Don't get things that are fried.
Limit the amount of bread you eat.
Remember that you can ask for custom orders ---- ex: leave off the cheese, cook without butter, no added salt.0 -
Try getting the kid's meal. My favorite is Panda Express Chinese food. The have several heart healthy options and I always choose the white rice. It comes with a 12 oz drink and a fortune cookie. All for under $5.00.0
