Fit spouse doesn't understand

My husband is lucky- he has good genes, and high metabolism. He is trim and fit and doesn't even have to try. He can eat chocolate, steaks, pizza, it doesn't matter. He never gains an ounce. He does not understand how hard it is for the rest of us to lose weight. He is supportive of my weight loss program, but I know deep down he wonders why I don't just "eat less and work out more". Like it's so easy. It's very frustrating. Does anyone else have a naturally thin spouse??

I do... my husband never works out, eats whatever he feels like eating and he looks great. I'm sure he has a good metabolism, but more importantly he's English, and I think the European way of eating is much different than that of an American's. I eat whenever I see food...he eats when he's hungry. If he's not hungry at dinner time, he'll actually postbone dinner or just have a light snack later on. I eat because it's dinner time! When he first moved to the US he couldn't understand why we needed so much food on our plates in restaurants. I've still not seen him finish a whole plate in a restaurant. I wish I had that type of control.

my spouse isn't particularly thin, but a nice build. However, my issues are more with my father who is thin, healthy, hypoglycemic and doesn't understand how myself and my mother both struggle with our weight. It has been a self esteem issue my whole life. Soooo.... I recommend highly that you and your husband get this resolved before you have children or don't discuss this in front of your children if you already have them. Girls are especially sensitive to the approval and acceptance (or the lack thereof) of there fathers. Just a small piece of advice based on my personal experiences.
