One large meal and several small ones

Opinions please. Is it alright to eat small meals throughout the day and have a nice large dinner?
I LOVE dinner, it's my favorite meal of the day and I like a large one (not so large that I go over calories though)
I eat 100-200 cals for breakfast
100-350 cals for lunch
Usually have two fuits for daytime snacks
and then if there is any calories left over from dinner, I have some sweets. ie chocolate candies, chips, popcorn etc My cals and carbs are usually pretty good coming in under...fats and sodium are a "little" e high bur overall I seem to be losing weight right now. Am I sabotaging future weight loss though?? I can get breakfast in (egg and sausage, grits, cereal, or oatmeal etc) lunch is my problem. I am usually doing something and blow right through lunch. Sometimes I can sneak in a sub or homemade sandwhich, but usually it's a slimfast or something like that lately.
Thoughts?

I'm like you - I love food, and like to really enjoy a good meal. Since I'm so busy during the day, it's easy to shortcut those meals and look forward to something nice at the end of the day.
I've been doing a protein shake with fiber for breakfast and lunch (each about 250-300 cals depending on what I put in), a few 100-200 calorie snacks, and a thoughtful dinner. So far, so good.
For me, the key has been eating *something* nutritious every 3 hours or so.0 -

Its fine if you can hit your macro/micro-nutrient goals with this eating plan.0 -
No sabotage here. As long as you stay under maintenence cals over a period of time you will lose weight - even if you only eat them in one or two meals a day.
If you are not a big breakfast person, you might even want to look into a program like intermittent fasting (IF). There's a group on here dedicated to it, and you'll find a lot of useful info on the leangains website if you are interested!0 -
If that is an eating pattern that works for your life, then that is what you need to work with to lose weight! Personally, I try to eat one larger meal in the day (usually dinner, but it varies) and several snacks/small meals that are around 200 calories. It sounds like a good protein shake might be a good lunch option for you, they're easy and satisfying and very handy when you're busy!0

You sound just like me, and I have lost 55lbs so far, so it seems to be working.0

If it's working for you go with it. If it isn't, change it. Don't fix it if it's not broke.0
