What does your "stable" weight fluctuate by?

I've reached target weight and am now focussing on maintenence.
My query to all you folks out there is: what do you see your "stable" weight fluctuate by? I guess this will be slightly different for men and women given that women have their monthly cycle affecting things as well. I am a man by the way....
My weight fluctuates by as much as 6 lbs, mainly depending on alcohol, wheat, and salty/processed food intake. All seem to add significantly short term weight gain which I am guessing is almost entirely water retention. This short term gain usually dissappears just as quickly if I have a "clean" week.
Just wondering if this is all within the normal boundaries of fluctuation.
Thanks guys and gals.

Mine as much as 4lbs, however, I feel that my sodium intake plays a big part so I try to never have any added salt to my meals etc.
And I am exactly the same as the weight will dissapear after a clean week of drinking lots of water, green tea, eating lean and having regular workouts.0 -
the amount you eat in a day or drink in a day, the amount of water you hold, the amount of waste products you get rid of all contribute. its just one of those things in life.0

Yep, it's "within normal parameters."0

I have to say - when I was at a stable weight - years ago now as I've been yo-yo-ing ever since. My weight would fluctuate within 7lbs.
I was always on or between the same seven pound ratio. I have to say I never noticed it in my appearance or my clothes etc...and I wasn't obsessively monitoring it either. I just ate my regular foods, did my regular thing and it would just fluctuate.0 -
After ThanksGiving weekend (lots of food and drink) I weighed 10 pounds over! It all went away in a few days. I agree with sodium having a big effect . When I stopped being a routine beer drinker I lost about 5 pounds without cutting any calories .some times just letting stuff leave your system helps.0

Sometimes +/- 4 lbs
So in fact, since it does fluctuate everyday - in the end I don't really know how much I weight0 -
Jers43: +10lbs - that's impressive!
Thanks everyone0 -
without counting Alcohol or party gorging.. about 7lbs.
Counting nights/next morning when theres Alcohol, and counting occasional partys like superbowl or whatever where you eat alot then over 10lbs.
edit:
BTW this is a really good question, and thinking about it, im amazed its not asked more often.0 -
I fluctuate 5lbs daily.0

its totally normal.
my weight is 150 but some days it can be 148 and other days it can be 154. depends on my eating/exercise and how much sodium and junk i've had.
i weigh msyelf daily and plug it into an app on my phone so seeing the fluctuaions is really interesting (for example, usually saturday and sunday mornings the scale is hiiiiigh bc i give in to weekend tempations! then tues, wed, thurs, and fri morning the scale is back to normal0 -
My nutritionist used to tell me a 2 lbs flucuation in weigh - up or down - means you are stable. Anything more is a gain or loss (although it could be related to circumstances). She also said don't "panic" unless its 5 or more. Then you need to look at what you're doing and re-evaluate.0
