Feeling Faint

Hi all,

I have had a couple of dizzy spells in the last few days, one of which left me feeling really quite woozy for a couple of hours.

Before anybody jumps to the assumption that I'm starving myself, I'd like to clarify that I am really, really not! I'm hardly ever hungry except for right before meals and not just because I'm filling up on water. I have 3 full meals a day, including breakfast and then snack on Rivitas, bananas, unsalted nuts, cereal bars etc throughout the day. I'm always below my calorie count, but never dangerously so, only by a couple of hundred or so, which I usually earned through exercise anyway!

A couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with an inflamed gall bladder, although they couldn't locate the stones and believe they may be causing a blockage. I was advised to change my diet and have done so. I'm using this as the much needed motivation I need to drop 100lbs but I can't let it happen too quickly or my gall bladder will become worse and the surgeons will refuse to operate on it! - Evidence that I really am being sensible and serious about my weightloss.

BUT, I am wondering: could my dizziness be to with a change in diet? I can't see how much more sensibly I can be eating!? I must have been taking in much, much less good stuff before now - when I was stuffing my face on white bread and crisps!?

OR could my dizziness be down to something gall stone related? I've looked online and haven't found anything, but in my experience of talking to other sufferers it's a problem that displays lots of symtoms that vary wildly. I experience extreme nausea and heart burn whilst many other people I speak to don't.
The pain of my gallstones is worsened by eating fatty, starchy foods. Since switching to fresh fruits and vegetables, lots of wholemeal etc, the pain has subsided drastically... but now I'm wondering if there may be other side effects!?

Finally, my doctor has advised that I completely cut caffeine from my diet. As a caffeine-head this was difficult, but after a jittery couple of days the need for 'feine subsided and I actually felt healthier than ever... Is it possible that there are follow up effects to going cold turkley on caffeine that you don't experience immediately?

If it is caffeine withdrawal, I'm afraid that I can't accept tips that suggest having a small cup of something like tea just to help calm the dizziness; caffeine, it turns out, has been the source of stones moving around in my gall bladder and causing me the excruciating pain!

I'm not on any medication and I do get enough sleep!

Can anybody help / suggest what this could be?

Thanks!

I had gallstones years ago and yes I had nauseau and heart burn. I actually went to the ER once thinking I wa shaving a heart attack. So it could be related.

I am gonna think it is mor elikely caffeine withdrawal. Just like any drug it takes awhile for it to actually withdraw from caffeine. I would say if you have this for more than 2 weeks, go see your Dr
