Using hubby's insensitivity to my advantage...

I posted awhile back about hubby not being supportive and bringing junk in the house even though I ask him not to. You guys were great and very supportive. Anyway, my anniversary was yesterday and he is in Nebraska working. I had hidden his present in his suitcase before he left. He calls me yesterday and tells me happy anniversary and says "if you want a gift you will have to go buy it yourself". He knows I hate that cuz all I really want is something that he picks out that he puts some thought into (never happens btw). So today I went and bought a Polar F6 HRM. That'll teach him:laugh:

I would have gone and bought a porsche.
I'm mad on your behalf. The least he could have done is say- we'll celebrate when I get home. Did he thank you for the present?
:grumble: :explode:0 -
Anyone besides me thinking tennis bracelet? Oh go ahead and get the matching earrings too!0

:explode: i would have been so mad when he said that!

Yes, this and matching necklace and ring!0 -
Good ideas but I got something I REALLY wanted and knowing it will help me with my new lifestyle will piss him off more than anything else. And he did thank me for the gift in a "by the way" thanks for the present thing. No biggie.....I got better things to obsess about...
He never takes me out to celebrate anything (birthdays, anniversarys) so I really don't care about that. I kinda don't want to go anywhere with him anyway....long story.0 -
He is probably afraid you will get fabulous and dump his mean *kitten*0

Happy anniversary. Husbands can suck sometimes without even knowing it. Hopefully he starts to appreciate you more once he realizes that you're evolving without him.0

Actually what I did do the last time was just leave it on the counter until it got moldy (it was angel food cake) so it didn't take long. :laugh:0 -

regardless of marital strife, the Polar F6 is an amazing tool... you are going to be so happy you got it. I can't even think about exercising without mine. Definitely worth every penny. :explode:0

Wow! That sounds real insensitive for sure!!! I'm sure he'll sit up and take notice though when you keep losing weight and put on that sexy dress and flaunt it!!! Keep it up0

Working on the dumping thing. He has really messed with my self esteem for so many years and I am just getting to where I am feeling somewhat better about myself. My son graduates next year and I will be 50 in 2 years so I am thinking I might just lose 165 pounds of dead weight (meaning hubby, that is his weight btw  ) and give myself a divorce for my 50th birthday then head off to have a fabulous time on a week long vacation somewhere. I have set goals for finances and other things for the next 2 years so I do have a plan. He is an alcoholic and very emotionally abusive and I have been with him for 21 years (20 years too long).0 -
Dr Phil says there is only one thing worse than 21 years with a drunk that is 21 years and one more day!0

Yeah, my EX husband used to be like that.
Congrats on your new HRM. :bigsmile:0 -

Good for you! As someone who is learning the law and deals with divorces (and I am in fact taking my family law final tomorrow ) Too many women dont take charge of their lives when they are in bad situations, and in turn are left with nothing after a divorce, or even worse never leave :noway:
I commend you for taking the initiative and saving up, oh and getting fabulous as well! Hopefully many other women will follow in your footsteps if they are in situations like yours :flowerforyou:0 -
Sing this to the beat of the William Tell overature next time you think of your future plans with rotten hubby:
To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump ,dump
To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump ,dump
To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump ,dump
To the Dump!!!!!!! To the Dump! Dump! Dump!!!
It is catchy and easy to remember! Get fabulous, Get even! Get Free!0
