So I'm heading interstate to visit my best friend for 3 days on Friday. I was thinking I might change my calories to maintenance for these days so I can enjoy my time without worrying so much about what I'm eating. Also, I wonder whether this might be a good thing for my weight loss. I've made it to 74kg and would like to get down to 70kg but for the last month, my weight loss has slowed. What do you think? Am I making a mistake?

Also, my husband and I are having a 3 week holiday in the US in June and I was thinking about going back to maintenance then too (if I haven't already made it to my goal by then). Good or bad idea?

Just based on the above info I think it's a great idea and that you should be taking some maintenance breaks over the course of your diet -- assuming (and this is a big assumption that only you can really answer) that you can get back on track when the maintenance period is over.

I agree w/ sidesteal. Being in a constant calorie deficit slowly drains your tank. Allowing yourself time to disengage from your routine will likely not only help your overall progress but you'll be completely refreshed when you start training and eating at a deficit again. I think there are more benefits in what you want to do than not.
