Coconut Oil

Well I have been try to change things in my diet, like sugar consumption and processed things like most oils. I was wondering your thought on coconut oil. It was my understanding that it was used a few decades ago in some quick serve restaurants for high temp cooking. But was replaced when the No fat diet came into play and the restaurants started using hydrogenated oils.
I need an oil for high temp cooking. I love the rich taste of fried foods, I will probably never, even if I have gall bladder surgery, stop frying stuff.
On the side of my first purchase it says not for deep frying. so does that mean all high temp frying too. It seem like a stupid question because it says "no deep frying" but that is a form of high temp frying. See my dilemma?
Please don't suggest olive oil it burns. I know I have tried. It is for crisping only and raw consumption.
Thanks for you opinions.
