Tough Mudder

Has anyone done this?
My best friend is planning on signing up for the one in our area in July. I think she's nuts cause she hasn't started training. She's in decent shape but isn't on any kind of a program. She usually goes to the gym regularly, doesn't do weights much and hasn't done them at all in the last month due to a broken thumb. She's also taken a few weeks off of cardio due to shin splints. I'm worried she's gonna end up wasting her money and/or hurting herself.
She's trying to recruit a bunch of our friends to do it as well. I told her no way for me, as I already have my training program set for the year and don't want to mess with it. That's as much as I've voiced my opinion. I don't want to try and talk her out of it and say she won't pull it off, but well, I'm pretty skeptical and don't think she knows what she's getting into.
Opinions?

I have not done the tough mudder, but shorter (5K) obstacle courses and she should be training!! They are hard and intense.....and FUN!!! I didn't train for my first one and I did ok, but it killed me. I trained a little for my second one and did much better. The Tough Mudder has a lot harder obstacles then your normal courses and it is 10 miles. I would recommend she trains. She will be lifting her body weight over obstacles, so she will need to support most of her weight.0

thanks for the input.
We are already doing the zombie 5K in May, which has some obstacles, and a regular 10K the beginning of July. I didn't even realize it was 10 miles. She's planning on starting training but my concern is she's not going to train hard enough because she doesn't realize how hard it will be, or she'll train too hard because it's a short time period and she'll get hurt.0 -

I believe the course was designed for military use or similar to what some of our military go through during training. There are very high climbing walls, might have to carry logs, etc. It is tough, hence the name A lot of people don' t finish. It is supposed to be more of a teamwork type drill b/c some obstacles might require help getting over. Have fun doing the Zombie run. I have done 2 mud runs so far (1 in a dress!) and am now addicted to them!! I was going to sign up for the Tough Mudder but it is out of my price range right now and I have to work the weekend it is going on in my area.0
