I am thinking about buying one or two.....

I think the benefit of them is that you can hold them at a different angle than you can regular dumbbells, making it easier to perform certain exercises.
I don't think they're any more effective as muscle building than any other type of resistance.0 -
i LOVE mine! I have a 15lb one. i use it for lots of things. squats, swings, triceps, russian twists (both on a ball and the ground), ummm, that's all i can think of off the top of my head, but i know there's more!0

I prefer my steel ones better!!0

they are good just as regular dumbbells. Nothing wrong with adding a little variety to your workouts. The exercises you perform, and your goals will determine the weight you should purchase...0

I started with a ten, and at first it was good for most things but then it became too light. I need a 15 or 20 for different things.
But don't start too high or you won't get correct form and may hurt yourself...0 -

^^^This!
Check out Pavel Tsetsoulines book Enter The Kettlebell.
Fantastic read on how to use them more efficiently.
Smaller more efficient workouts means better time spent living life!0 -
L.O.V.E. them! I use a 10 for now0

I've started using them. I have a 15 and a 5. The 5 is a bit too light, but I'm a little too wussy for the 15 yet. lol
Going to go get a 10 or a 7 to add to them.0 -
LOVE THEM! I bought a set of 15lb./10lb./5lb. It came with a dvd full of great workouts.0

Love 'em.
I haven't found anything that gets off pounds faster or better.
Check out http://www.dragondoor.com for a ton of info.
Nice and knowledgeable folks0 -
Excellent. Also check out Art of Strength. They have made in USA kettlebells, and some very good work-along DVDs. "Providence" is a good DVD to start with. I've been doing it for a long time and it still smokes me.0

I have just started and use a 4kg one at the moment but have a 6 kg and an 8kg one to move on to. Does anyone know how many calories they burn say in a 20 minute workout? Enjoy0
