Here is why I ask.... I eat a LOT of raw spinach. I use it in smoothies. Sometimes my smoothies - like today - will have 4 cups of raw spinach, which, if cooked, would be a very small amount.
I'm trying to eat about 10 - 12 servings a day of veggies and fruit.
Things that are not singular, like bananas, pears, tomatoes are easy IMO.... I count 1 as 1.

Answer: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) sets a serving size for fruit or vegetables to be equal to about one-half cup. Greens like spinach and lettuce have a serving size equal to one full cup. One serving of sliced fruit is equal to one-half cup; however a single piece of fruit, such as an apple or an orange counts as one serving.

Sounds like four cups of raw spinach counts as four servings.0
