Sedentary, giving this a second go

Hey everyone! I got introduced to myfittnesspal a while ago and decided to actually give it a shot this time.

I'm 21, and on my butt a lot due to studying, writing and drawing. I'm studying to go into filmmaking, which requires a LOT of energy daily to do- energy that I don't have right now! So I am in the middle of a huge change on how I approach eating and exercising.

I am also dragging along my mom during this round, since she is 56, more sedentary than I, an accountant and has bad arthritis. I made a deal with her- that we go on the South Beach Diet together, and as long as I cook all of the meals in Phase 1, she will be my partner through this change. We are on day 11/16 of Phase 1, and are having a lot of success so far!

I also want to get back into Kenpo martial arts soon, and become proficient in it.
