Hey all,
I just recently purchased a Magic Bullet blender and I have been making a lot of smoothies for breakfast lately. I usually just throw together whatever sounds good and add either chocolate or vanilla protein powder, but I'm looking for some new ideas. Do you have any smootie recipes you love? Thanks in advance!

Chocolate protein powder with 1 tbs natural peanutbutter and 1/2 cup frozen strawberries or 1 small banana is my favorite!

Hubby & I have smoothies for breakfast on our way to work quite often. I usually use 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk or almond-coconut blend, 1/2 cup of juice of some sort (we're using grape right now), 1 cup frozen fruit (usually a mixture), 1/2 cup fat-free plain Greek yogurt, and 2 Tbsp. milled flax seed per smoothie. They come out to around 300 calories and usually keep us full until lunch.

I go 1 banana, 1 cup of milk or water, half a cup of mixed berries and handful of salad greens, pretty tasty if you get the ratios right.

1 cup Strawberries with a few blueberries mixed in
1 teaspoon natural smooth peanut butter
1 scoop low carb vanilla protein powder
    1/2 cup soy milk
    50g natural yoghurt
    Crushed ice

If it doesn't appear liquidy enough, add more Soy Milk.

  • I travel for a living and pack a blender with me. When I get to my city for the week, I hit a grocery store and grab stuff to make smoothies. Ingredients will vary with what I can get, but mostly my smoothies are...YUMMY!

    Winter smoothie:

2 Organic Honeycrisp or Red Delicious apples (3 if they are small)
1/4 package organic silken or soft tofu (I can't do dairy, you could use 1 small container greek yogurt instead)
8 oz Goodbelly or 1 (80 ml) container Goodbelly Plus mixed with 8 oz water or 8 oz organic apple juice
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    2 generous handfuls organic spinach

Yes, it is a green smoothie, but you cannot taste the spinach. Goodbelly is a probiotic fruit drink. Goodbelly Plus is a probiotic fruit drink with vitamins.

    Summer smoothies:

    1 mango
1/4 fresh organic pineapple (or no pineapple and 2 mangos)
1/4 package organic silken or soft tofu (I can't do dairy, you could use 1 small container greek yogurt instead)
8 oz Goodbelly or 1 (80 ml) container Goodbelly plus mixed with 8 oz water or 8 oz organic pineapple juice
    2 generous handfuls organic spinach

2 organic peaches (3 if they are small)
1/4 package organic silken or soft tofu (I can't do dairy, you could use 1 small container greek yogurt instead)
8 oz Goodbelly or 1 (80 ml) container Goodbelly plus mixed with 8 oz water or 8 oz organic apple juice
    2 generous handfuls organic spinach
  • my staple has been:

    1 banana
    1/2 cup skim milk
    3/4 tbsp peanut butter
    1 scoop protein powder
    7-8 ice cubes

    My absolute favourite!
    1 cup rice milk
    frozen mango chunks
kale chopped up with the bullets flat blade first

    1 cup rice milk
    frozen blueberries
    chocolate protein powder

    1 cup rice milk
    frozen banana chunks
    chocolate protein powder

Yeah, I like them simple and prefer the taste of rice milk to other milks.

I am a smoothie addict! I have a lot of variations but my go-to smoothie (in the magic bullet):

    - 1 cup frozen berries
    - 1 handful spinach
    - 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
    - 1/2 cup liberte plain greek yogurt
    - 1/2 scoop whey protein powder
    - water (to your desired consistency)

I get lots of my other smoothie ideas from Peanut Butter Fingers' recipe page. http://www.pbfingers.com/recipes/smoothies-and-shakes/

PS. When I make smoothies w/ banana I use frozen ones, saves having to add ice cubes! I just peel my bananas, break them in half and store them in ziploc baggies in the freezer. Great to do with bananas that are starting to go bad too. :)
