Need help with hubby's diet

My hubby has a BMR of 2042, his goal is to lose 1.5 pounds a week. His calories according to this website should be 2010 per day. He has been eating about 1600-1800. He is losing about a 1.5 lbs a week. I was just wondering if he could get sick because he is not eating 2010? Are there any physical symptoms I should be looking for? I know he could go into starvation mode if he doesn't get enough. Im just wondering what you all think about his daily amount?

No, he's not going to get sick. He's close enough that it won't matter to much. He may get sick from what he's eating but not the calorie amount, (LOL). Good Luck0

My 6'1" husband has been on 1,200 calories a day since Christmas and he is absolutely not getting sick - he has lost 15 pounds and has great energy and is sleeping better. About 5 days a week he does elliptical and burns 400 calories which puts him at a net 800 calories. If your hubby is working out and starving then he should add a healthy snack, but he's not going to get sick ...0

It's not how many calories, it's whether he's meeting his nutritional needs. He needs to cover his basal metabolic rate (how much energy it takes to stay alive with no exercise); part of that could come from the fat he's burning. But he absolutely has to have enough protein, vitamins, and minerals. If he's cutting calories by eating a small variety of foods, he could be undernourished, and then he could get sick. If he isn't eating a variety of foods, you should analyze the nutrients in what he is eating to see if there is anything he's consistently missing out on.0

ok, thanks. I just thought maybe he wasn't eating enough for his size. I believe he is getting all his nutrients, I'll keep an eye on that.0

He could take a multi-vitamin and mineral to make sure he is getting all nutrients especially when restricting calories.0
