i am tired of searching "poop" related topics into google and not finding relevant answers. I don't feel particularly constipated, though ive upped my fiber a lot and it has made me gassy, but is this happening to anyone else? I used to go only once every two days, but now it is more like 3 or 4 between poo-poos? Is that just because i am eating less/burning more or should i consider laxatives?
man--- that was a pathetic editing job on my topic title.... i meant "to go" not "too got" ahhhh

My diet and exercise has actually increased mine. Plus I'm taking a green tea extract which helps with that as well.0

dont laugh, but google the words Dr Oz, Oprah, and Poop...there is lots of good info in an easy to understand format. My favorite is the article titled "Everybody Poops" lmao. Seriously. lol. I always look in the bowl now and wonder if Dr Oz would aprove or not now LOL (realy).0

Hahaha oh my god. I was actually thinking of whether or not I should post a thread about this on MFP!
I've found that sometimes my regularity will decline while on a diet if I'm not having at least 25g of fibre per day. (Though in saying that, I come from a long line of constipated women. lol.)
Here is a list of things that keep me regular/help restore regularity. Laxatives are the bane of my existence, so I avoid them at all costs!
- Green tea helps exponentially. Drink it with your breakfast.
- Probiotics. They're in the fridge at your chemist. If you're able to access the 'Metagenics' range, Probex is my life saver.
- Ground Flaxseed
- Psyllium Husk (A much lower cal alternative to Flax)
- A huge bowl of veggies. I always go the morning following having a big bowl of them the night before
- Water!!
- If all else fails, Metagenics has a vitamin called 'Laxatone', which is a natural alternative to Laxatives. More of a stool softener0 -

Probiotics are AMAZING! Taking them everyday has really changed how my body processes food and I feel so great!0

I went through this while I was on a more restrictive, low-fat (but high fiber) diet. When I started introducing more healthy fats in to my diet, I have had a lot fewer bathroom problems. I also went to my doctor, and my body just doesn't really respond to fiber, so he put me on a regimen of Miralax (OTC powder). I started taking it every day, but now I take it about once or twice a week, and it is the perfect formula along with allowing more fats in to my diet to being regular again! This has worked really well for me, but every body is different. I really don't recommend taking laxatives or stool softeners - they did more harm than good for me. Miralax is a different type of laxative (osmotic, not stimulant) and works by bringing water in to the bowels. I hope this helps!!
Edit: and I try and drink lots of water!!! I definitely notice a difference when I do and do not have as much water as I should.0 -
I would also consider eliminating all products with High Fructose Corn Syrup from your diet. From experience I have learned that it can cause a lot of "back up" problems when you're eating otherwise healthy and fiber rich foods. It means a lot of label reading but it can make such an incredible difference. I noticed from glancing at your diary that there are a few brands on there that do have HFCS in their ingredient list.0

It happens to me when I start dieting. Try eating a bit more fiber. Oatmeal always make me have to poo, as do fiber one bars.0

At a glance for your last week, there's a couple things that worry me. First off, your sodium levels are almost double what your daily intake should be at. Also, several days you burned almost all of the calories you consumed by exercise, which is basically like you didn't eat that day. This is going to put your body into a panic mode and either store or use everything that entered your body. If you're going to exercise so aggressively, try raising your calories to 2k per day. Your muscles will that energy to repair if you're wanting a toned look.0
