Chicken, protein powder, greek yogurt, steak, eggs...
never mind, you can't increase protein but not cals as protein has 4cals per gram. You could lower carbs or fat and replace with protein though0 -
Love me some low fat cottage cheese~0

I second the Greek yogurt and protein powder! A really great protein powder I've found that boosts a workout is Hemp protein powder.0

Hemp protein powder? Okay, I'll look that up. I have loads of chocolate and vanilla Eas sugar free. I use it to make muffins. Just a little tired of it.
Greek yogurt it is, my brother who is a px90, training guru, suggested that as well. It's just off putting due to the sugars in it.
I make regular yogurt at home, wonder if I can do Greek yogurt too?
Thanks, I'm just having a limited scope lately.0 -
You need to find a food that is interesting and practical enough to eat the rest of your life. Otherwise you'll regain the weight as soon as you return to your former habits.
I drink a lot of cocoa made with skim milk and Hershey cocoa powder. The nonfat cocoa powder doesn't add much beside more protein. Nonfat cottage cheese (Breakstone, without the weird chemicals to make it taste like it's not nonfat), nonfat greek yogurt are good concentrated ways to add protein. But if you don't like them and they're boring, there's no point.
You can use the greek yogurt for anything you would normally use sour cream in, and you can use cottage cheese for a lot of foods that normally would have some other type of cheese baked in. I like crepes made with mushrooms/vegetables sauteed in a nonstick wok with some cottage cheese dumped in at the last minute just to get it warmed through. You can use any vegetables and any seasoning you like. I have some herbs growing on my windowsill that add an amazing flavor when they're fresh cut.
Marinades can make an endless variety of meals from low fat meats like fish filets and skinless chicken breasts. And grilling over charcoal is a great way to make low cal taste better than high fat.0 -

Thanks for you time and all of the information. Due some stress, I lost my nutritional and active lifestyle starting last autumn and gained roughly about 25 pounds. I've lost 18 in about 4 weeks, 6 to go. I have chosen to lose an additional 9 pounds prior to going back to maintenance. Food isn't very interesting to me. I lift weights and do intense cardio. I can meet my other nutritional needs OK, but my muscles are fatigued because I need to eat protein. I have no doubt that I'll drop the remaining weight prior to the end of March.. I'm just trying to find foods to make protein more interesting so I'll eat.
I know from years of being on this lifestyle that if I don't get protein I am fatigued and my skin, hair and nails start stressing, too. I totally agree with you. It's absolutely important to have a nutritional and physical lifestyle one can live with. Fat is one thing that I have always had a surplus of and I drop weight like mad and my cholesterol levels, per my doctor, are excellent. I'm more worried about also introducing sugar in to my diet, which will make me gain a pound over night and I'll start craving stupid stuff immediately-like this autumn.
:flowerforyou: Thanks for the yogurt suggestion, it looks like it would be easily made a home and I can use fruit and sweet leaf to regulate the sugars.0
