Compensate eating late & exhausted morning workout

2 questions. (I'm a slim guy but working on reducing fat in the belly area.)
1. Although I plan not to eat late, sometime I really have to.. to reach the bare MINIMUM calorie goal and I do feel very hungry at nights than any other time. And I don't get much time after my last meal for the day (they say 3 hrs, but I hardly get an hour). Is there a way to compensate for this? Can I do some indoor workout for 30 mins which would be equivalent to the 3 hrs wait period after the meal?
2. I workout first thing in the morning on empty stomach for best results for fat loss, but I get very exhausted almost to death in 15-20 mins.. right now I manage with 5-10 mins rest in between. What is the best drink/food (except coffee!) that will help me get some strength but not defeating the purpose of empty stomach workout?
