Feeling disappointed in myself this morning

I feel terrible this morning for what I did and didn't eat last night. Basically I'm still suffering with this awful cold and that combined with my hospital placement for uniis taking it out of me and yesterday left me realy faint and with the shakes etc while I was on placement. I managed to finish the day but decided I need to feed myself up the next few days cos my cold doesn't seem to be going anytime soon. The plan was to get a take away on the way home but instead I opted to head to Tesco for some goodies. Came home with a basket full of absolute crap which was even more extravangant and excessive than usual. To my shame I ate 4 sausage buns (6 sausages) but on the good side I didn't really eat that many of the goodies I bought. Only a few biscuits, chocolate buttons and a small bag of sweets which really wasn't too bad at all compared to what I'd normally eat on a bad day but I feel absolutely terrible and guilty this morning even though I didn't eat much of it. I think what's making me feel so bad is I literally have 5 or 6 unopened packs of biscuits, at least half of a huge bag of chocolate buttons and other sugary and fatty stuff I like to binge on sat downstairs and I know I'm gonna eat it just cos it's there. I'm really annoyed with myself and don't know what to do now :(

Let me get this straight. You're annoyed that you ate some food?

Um, no, can't you read? She's disappointed in herself for buying a load of junk food and annoyed that she has brought the temptation right to her house.

The only thing I can suggest, dreaminchicken, is throw away all of the food, or take the goodies into placement with you today so that the staff can enjoy them. If you can't bear to throw it away then put it all in a box and ask someone in your house to hide it from you until you can trust yourself with it again! Best of luck.

I would definitely bring it somewhere to offer to friends/colleagues - everyone likes getting biscuits and then you get rid of it.

Last night I also had a little binge due to a cold - something about having a cold makes me want to eat rubbish, so I know the feeling.

Make you eat throughout the day, even if you are busy and it is small snacks like some nuts or a granola bar to prevent getting really hungry at the end of the day and craving junk.

Everyone has slip ups, right? I saw this the other day on Tumblr and it's really helping me whenever I feel like I've messed up.. :)

Today is a fresh day. Go downstairs, get the cookies, biscuits and chocolate buttons, bag them up and give them to a friend or bin them!!! Or give them to a friend and ask them to give you 2 biscuits per day!!! I keep no biscuits, chocolate or junk food in the house as I have a HUGE problem with chocolate and biscuits, instead my boyfriend keeps them in his van and every day he brings me a couple of biscuits or snackbars.

I also had a bad day yesterday, I ate way too many carbs! 4 scones, bread and then 2 sticky cakes/pastries from the bakery in the morning...feeling heavy and lethergic today and realised I under estimated my calories too!! My daughter did cookery and came home with scones and I had already eaten a few cakes...and then once I had one scone I had to have another!!! But today is a new day!!! Have a good day and everytime you crave something from downstairs, do something to distract yourself! Personally, I would bin the lot or give it away...getting rid of temptation.

Today is a whole new day....learn form your mistakes and try not to make them again! If you do just don't make it a habit...get back on track

Don't worry about it, esp as you aren't feeling well. We all have those binge out days. You need them IMO.

Once you don't do it every day!
  • Today is a new day, bag up the junk, take it to work to "share" /off load. Go back to the store and buy some good food. We all get up in the morning with a totally fresh unmarked day. Don't fill it up with the mistakes of yesterday.

Throw it out, don't worry about the cost, your feelings about yourself are far more important. If you don't throw it out, you will eat it....

    LOVE THIS!!!!
This is a life long journey, not a race. We all have those days but tomorrow is a new one...even the next hour or minute of the day can be a time to turn it around.
  • Hi guys, feeling much better tonight. I've generally had a rubbish week and think I was feeling a bit delicate and sorry for myself this morning. The biscuits and so on are still there, I've not eaten them and tbh I haven't been tempted so I really must be sick haha.

Anyway, going to keep them out of sight and when I get back to normal I'll use them as a daily treat. Thanks for the support x
