Protein!

Hi,
Does anybody use pea or soy protein, I've found them pretty cheap and the protein content seems a bit high than whey. I think they are cheaper 'cos they apparently taste horrifically disgusting but I'm sure I'd be able to handle the taste. I can get it for around £9 per kg ($14 US) compared to the cheapest whey I can find which is about £14 ($22). I think I might order a bag to give it a go?

I am currently using soy protein initially i hated it found the consistency closer to wall paper paste than a milkshake but got used to it with strawberry flavouring added. I am now again hating it and looking for something different. I find it too thick and it doesn,t mix well. That said I will use what i have as i can,t afford to throw it away but have run out of flavouring, I find it better with strawberry than chocolate.0

Pea - It has low protein content and truly tastes appalling. Soy - depends if they have removed the oestrogen increasing content, not good in a man.0

I used to use soy protein and loved it (GNC Soy95 I think). I recently made the switch to whey because I can get that at Sam's club and its taken me awhile to get used to the taste and consistency difference). But overall I liked the soy.0

the pea protein i have found is 23.4g of protein per 30g which I don't think is too bad, I know other proteins have much higher but I am majorly on a budget with losing my job and everything. The flavour and texture I think I can handle providing it pays off in the end. I'm going to order the 2.5kg bag for £16.79 which should give me over 80 servings so roughly about 20p per serving which I really can't complain about. Beats fighting with the crap tin opener to get my tuna open all the time. As soon as I'm working again then I will probably switch to whey. Thanks for the reviews guys0
