I ran 3 miles straight. I've been doing the C25K program and I'm on week 5 and thought why not just try and see where I'm at. Give me something to work toward. According to my Nike+ the last time I did a 5K was 2/14/11 (39:58, 12'43" - and at least half of that was powerwalked). Today I ran (for me anyway) the whole thing. I did take a 10 sec pause to tie my shoe but started running agian right after. Completed in 38:28 with a pace of 12'19". To some people this might not seem like a big deal... but to the girl who could barely run the mile in HS (and walked part of that too, btw) this is amazing!

Working toward improving my 5K time, running and 10K and hopefully someday a Half. :-D

That is awesome. I have started the C25k twice and always give up or stop around week 3 :).

    Congrats on your accomplishment.

That is awesome!! Just be careful about doing "too much too soon." I graduated from C25K on February 11th, but started running my 3 miles in week 6. I went too much too soon and have had terrible shin splints (that might be stress fractures...) since the week of the race. I am registered for a half marathon in May and it hurts SO bad to run right now that I'm training to WALK the race :*(

Didn't mean to damper your celebration, but after injuring myself I feel like I need to warn other people so they don't end up in the same boat I'm in :(:(

No, I understand. I'm going to continue with the C25K program. I just wanted to see where my 5K was right now... I honestly thought I'd walk part of it... but I didn't :) Those 10 minutes runs during the program should be nothing now.
