How would you all log food/drink in the middle of the night? I've woken up the last 2 nights feeling incredibly thirsty (around 3 am) and drank a bottle of water. Today I woke up also feeling hungry, didn't trust it and went back to sleep, then woke up later and was dry heaving I was so hungry so I ate a graham cracker (sorry for the TMI). Does that count for my calories today or yesterday? How do you all do it?

Just curios what everyone thinks!!

I generally don't bother to log water in the middle of the night but food...put it on whatever day you want. If you have no cals spare from the previous day then add then on to the next one.

More worrying is that you are so hungry you feel the need to snack at night? Maybe you should increase your calories? x

uhh first.. thats not normal. dry heaving from hunger? not cool.

anyway, what I was going to suggest is adding a 4th 'meal' and call it "late night".... thats what I do to log, and it seems to work well.

Thanks for you concern guys. This type of hunger in the middle of the night hasn't happened in more than 10 years. That's why it was weird.

I had more food than I normally do yesterday and was over 1400 calories. I've been staying between 1200-1300 so I'm trying something new and upping my calories. I was full and satisfied when I went to bed with my normal snacks in the evening which is why it weirded me out too. I think I'll add my 100 calorie popcorn at night again but last night I was full and not hungry.

I usually start my day at midnight. Log everything on that day until the next midnight. 24 hour cycles.

I have had hunger pangs - but never dry heaved because of hunger. That's kind of strange. I know everyone's different - but you may wanna talk to a physician.

Have you been tested for diabetes or anything? I used to have a friend that would dry heave, throw up because of low blood sugar.

I try not to eat that late ( not because of the time, i dont think it really matters when you eat) but digesting food seems to disturb my sleep cycle, I dont sleep as well if i have food in my stomach, as for water, i always keep a bottle of water by the bedside, and i never count it as part of my daily total, because usually i pee out (LOL)the excess water from the day before first thing in the morning
