Hi there everyone:) I just joined MFP in January and have been having amazing success until 3 weeks ago.I had lost 22 pounds in 5 weeks! Then, I was hospitalized and diagnosed with a blood clot in my lung and now I have to take a blood thinner which makes me retain water at times. I have to weigh myself daily to watch for water gain. One day I actually gained 5 pounds!!! Ouch! The scale isn't moving and it's obvious I've hit a plateau. Any suggestions to get over this hill would be great. I have had only one "free for all" day since starting my journey because the thought of consuming so many calories now just makes me ill to me stomach. I stay within my calorie range, exercise about 3 times a week. and drink plenty of water. I make the majority of my meals at home. Thanks in advance for any advice. At this point i'm super frustrated and don't see the other 55 pounds going anywhere. Ugh!!!

Think about having a big glass of lemon water (just lemon juice in water) once or twice a day. It's a natural diuretic. That may help with the water retention. I can't see your diary so I can't comment on what you're eating, when or how much to make suggestions on how to adjust. Generally, to get off the plateau you need to change something. Usually its more calories (yup, I know that just sounds wrong). Make sure you're eating at least some of your exercise calories. Maybe reduce carbs and increase protien. Eat lighter at night and heavier in the morning. Do more weights, less cardio. Pick one or two things to change and stick to it for a week. Good luck! You are doing great!
