PLEASE!! I am about to purchase a new pair of running shoes and feel like i'm in WAY over my head trying to decide between all the athletic shoes on the market. I am a beginning runner and looking for a pair of shoes with good support but not too heavy or bulky. any advice would be MUCH appreciated.

Go to your local running store and get fitted for the correct shoe for your foot. Don't take recommendations from strangers on the internet.
The wrong shoe can lead to injury. A local running store (IE, not a big box chain store) will analyze your foot and find a shoe suitable for your needs. You don't necessarily have to purchase shoes from them, but you can at least find out what you need and try on a few pairs.0
