Plateau or Normal Fluctuation?

My stats:
H: 5' 3" / A: 34
Current weight: 130.2 lbs
Goal weight: 124 lbs or Goal range: 120-124lbs
I admit I am slightly addicted to the scale so I keep my spreadsheet handy to see if I'm actually losing.
Would you classify this as a plateau or normal fluctuation that my body just refuses to stay under 130 lbs? I almost think I have a mental block to attain my goal. Any help/suggestions are welcome!

Riding the same wave over here--same numbers even! Grrr.
Wish I had an answer, but hoping to learn for myself as well.0 -
Exact same here! i'm interested to hear responses. I'm 20 years old, 5'7 and cannot stay under 140. I've been down to 138 but have been back up to 144ish for some time now0

I'm no expert, but 130 pounds (just under 60kg for those metric playing at home), seems like a healthy weight? why would you want to be any less?
also keep in mind this doesn't reflect the body fat vs muscle comparison, perhaps you're losing fat and gaining muscle? do you train hard?0 -

It's really a self-satisfaction maybe "vanity weight loss" for me to see that number and know I can attain and maintain. I was that weight when I got married 10+ yrs ago and it would be fantastic to reach that goal. I train as hard as I can most days. I am currently doing the Insanity Asylum program day 20, I go to the gym for cardio/strength/classes, and I also run when I can anywhere from 1-5 miles at a time.0 -
It looks to me like normal fluctuation. The body's weight can vary approximately 2 pounds through the course of a day. Do you way at the same time of day?0

Yes I do first thing in the morning . . . I don't even get a glass of water.0 -
Here's some food for thought. If you average out weekly (per your starting scale readings), you were consistently losing until Mid-August. After that you seem to be losing and gaining the same poundage for a continuous amount of time. So 1 of 2 things is going on: 1) Your body has decided what weight you will be even though it differs from what you want, or 2) *and the more likely* is that you have totally hit a plateau. To be sure - amp it up. I have no idea what your normal "week" looks like (yes, I totally function off timelines of 'weeks', not 'days'). However, if your calories are consistent, try having a "spike" day once a week and see if that helps rev up the metabolism and throw your body off. Amp up either the strength or cardio portion of your routine as an alternative. There is also the method of swapping around your macros a bit. Whichever way you do it, those are just a few methods that are known to help an individual break a plateau. There are more, and since there is no "cookie cutter" way that works for everyone, you have to find what works for you. I am more than willing to offer more methods if you have tried those already... but to answer your originial question, my money is on plateau
Good luck to you! You have done great so far!!!!0 -
Gah! I am the same way! I swear one day I'll be down a pound and the next I'll be up 2 pounds. I think my body is trying to tell me that 145 is where I am meant to stay! I don't like it! lol0

I was thinking that too about my current weight. BUT!!!!!. I changed some stuff around. Added to my workout routine and added more cals to my diet. If you aren't happy with where you are at, then try changing something in your routine. I bumped up both and after my body understood what I was doing, I starting losing again! Hope all goes well. Add me if you'd like as well.
PS. My diary is public if you'd like to look at it.0 -
I would advise actually having your body fat percentage assessed. The weight may be perfectly appropriate for you. I mean, you always have the option to try to starve yourself down to a certain number, but that might not be healthy for you.
But, then, if that's what you really want, that is your goal and I won't gainsay it. For myself, I'm aiming for a number that is well above what the medical charts say I should be, and then I will be assessing via body fat percentage at that point because I'm hoping to have a decent amount of weight in muscle when I get down there.0 -
I have been fluctuating Sense January between 121 and 119. Finally got to 118.8 but my goal is 118.0. But I didn't keep that 118.8 long because now I'm back at 119.2 ((sighs))0
