Hey, I had a post reccently about figuring out the calories burned in abnormal workouts and the most common answer I got was to get a HRM. All i've found were expensive ones and a few cheap ones that don't seem to do what they advertise according to others(*grumble grumble*). So i'd love some suggestions from everyone on what to get. There is a d*ck's sporting goods, walmart, target, and amazon for me. Those are generally gonna be where I look. What i'm looking for in my HRM is a watch with no strap, counts the calories burned, and under 50$. I dance as my workouts and do a few videos. Would love love love to be able to monitor the calories burned as a function and no strap just because I know for a fact I wouldnt use it.

Suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks!!!

Unfortunately with out a strap it will not be accurate for calories burned at all.. So you need a strap. Otherwise you are better off using MFP.

Look on Amazon... They really have the best prices out of everyone. Polar FT4 is the most basic and runs for 60... which is more then you want to spend, but it will last, won't crap out and gives a pretty accurate calorie estimation. It also has a strap... which I find not to be bothersome at all, it's fabric and stretches.

I would say the same, I purchased the FT7, and like it a lot. i think the FT4 would do good for you.
