This post is for all those out there who have a spike/cheat day once a week............ what is the proper method for this? Do you track your cals on this day, or do you just eat everything in sight like I do ;-)?

I'm not sure on a "proper method" but I do a cheat MEAL once a week. Mostly because I just wanna switch things up for a meal, also I probably really need the calories by the end of the week, and I figure it's a no-stress meal and an added bonus is it usually boosts my weight-loss. It's in a restaurant usually...any one I choose and I just pick whatever I wanna eat at the time. I definately do log it!!0

I weigh in on Saturday, and that is my spike/cheat/whatever you call it day. I usually eat out for at least one meal on Saturday. I always log it and try to stay at maintenance calories for the day. Still feels like cheating, but doesn't derail all my hard work from the week.0

I'm trying the Spike 84 method, and on spike day we aim to double our BMR. I log it.0

I do not follow the Spike84 protocol, but Spike84 is not the only diet plan that involves cheat days. The big thing I do is I eat below my MFP goals six days a week, so I can spend the extra calories on my cheat day.0 -
I have a "spike" day every 4th day, but I do not eat everything in sight. Haha! That would throw me way off course. For me, it's a "refuel" day in which I eat fruits and low-glycemic carbs at 3 of my 5 meals instead of just breakfast. I do have a "free" day approx every 24 days.
Love this system because if I really want a food, I plan for it and truly enjoy it. Well, unless I overindulge too much and get a stomachache.0
