I'm about four weeks and my bmr was around 1576 before pregnancy... Is it the same now? Just want to make sure to make proper adjustments. thx!

    I goes up throughout pregnancy as you have to take into account the making of the baby (which takes a lot of energy) and the baby's BMR as well.

    If I recall correctly, it adds approximately 250-300 calories to your BMR, but may vary based on how big your bump is/stage of pregnancy etc. Remember your TDEE goes up too, just because of carrying around more weight.

    Check with your own doctor. I was told to stick to normal calories first and second trimester and increase by 300 in the third but YMMV.

    I found this:

    http://www.ajcn.org/content/79/6/1078.short

    <snip>
    In the normal-BMI group, energy requirements increased negligibly in the first trimester, by 350 kcal/d in the second trimester, and by 500 kcal/d in the third trimester.
    <snip>

    I'd recommend verifying with your doctor.

    This exactly. If you are in the under or over weight categories you would need to check with your Dr but until you do you should set your calories to maintain.
