Skinny Fat?? O_o

How do I keep from getting the skinny fat and what exactly does that mean? I like to run and when doing this everything goes before my belly. Is this considered skinny fat?

    Skinny fat is essentially being thin or having a normal of underweight BMI yet still having a high BF%.

    The best way to combat it is to lift heavy weights and get plenty of protein, and maintain a small caloric deficit while dieting in order to retain lean muscle. If you don't your deficit is too large, you don't do strength training or get enough protein your body will use a large % of your lean muscle as fuel, instead of mostly fat.

    A lot of people become skinny fat by doing a ton of cardio as their only form of exercise while not eating enough.
