How to blend a lemon in a smoothie?

Do you have to take the skin off the lemon before you blend it? And do you take the seeds out of the lemon before you use it?
And I keep reading that a 100g of lemon is around 30 cals, so is that the juice from it, or the whole fruit?

    Lemon pith is super bitter and gross. You want the rind - the thin outeer yellow part, and the juice. You do not want to put pith or membranes in a smoothie.
  • Just the juice,maybe some pulp but not the whole lemon
