Hello I just wanted to know if anyone was in to blending or raw foods. Pro and Cons or just helpful things that I should know. As of now I do a fruit smoothie in morning and green one for lunch. I cook for husband and eat a small meal with him at night. Just want ideas and info Thanks

Hi, I used to eat 100% raw foods. I do not anymore, but on average eat about 60-80% raw each day. Raw smoothies for breakfast, lots of fruit, vegetables, etc. Feel free to add or message me if you have questions or want to talk more :)

I've been eating more raw food lately. I haven't considered blending or using a food processor. Maybe I should.....
  • You have to start blending! It takes fruit and veggies to the next level. I got a ninja blender for 99 dollars it was the best investment EVER.

    a few I've found...

I REALLY want a VITAMIX blender but they are SO expensive....glad to hear the Ninja works well...that's more my price range...

    My go to blender drink:

    1 apple
    Large handful of kale
    ginger (fresh)
    organic lemonade
    1/2 a banana
    2 celery stalks
  • I do not do a raw diet, but after watching Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, I did buy a juicer. I really like it. Breville Model # JE-98XL from Bed Bath & Beyond. It's only $149 and you can use the 20% off coupon. I love carrot juice in the morning, but my kids like me to add an apple. I also LOVE green juice--4-5 large leaves of Kale, 4-5 stalks of celery, several handfuls of spinach and 2 gala apples. Everything from the fridge so it's colder. I use a small mesh strainer as I pour it into the glass, and sometimes I put it in the fridge while I clean the juicer to put a chill back on it. Whether it's in my head or not, I do feel better on the days that I have those 2 large glasses of juice.

Fat, SIck and Nearly dead is a pretty good movie IMO.

We have the Breville Fountain Elite and love it. I also have a Vitamix. These are one of the best investments we have made amongst our kitchen gadgets. Between these 2 equipments, eating raw is easy.

Also, Vitamix is expensive but well worthy. It has a 7 year warranty, it replaces so many kitchen gadgets (soup and ice cream maker at the same time) and most important of all: It is made in the USA. It is actually made a few miles from where I live.
We got ours from Costco but my husband could not wait to get it delivered and was told that he could pick it up at the Vitamix HQ in North Olmsted, Oh (I think that is where they are made).
  • O M goodness I am going to have to get that movie. Where did you get it from
  • That sounds so good I will have to try it!!!

You can stream it from Amazon.com. Not sure if Netflix has it.
