I am looking for fitness pal friends. I had a thyroid surgery about 6 months ago and have gained roughly 35 lbs since then and have not been able to lose any of it. To be honest, I have been at a healthy weight my whole life being very active. Now I'm at a loss and could definitely use some guidance and support. Feel free to contact and add me.

I would ask your doctor since your thyroid problem was bad enough to require surgery.

    Hi,

I had a complete thyroidectomy in October 2010 due to thyroid cancer, but I was being treated to for hashimoto's prior to that. I'm finally feeling back to being normal & having more energy. I think it takes a while to get tsh levels sorted out. I finally feel like I have more energy now. Hang in there!

  • Have you had your levels checked since your surgery? If not, I would have some labs run again.

I def. feel your pair with thyroid probs! I have Graves' disease and have gained 40 lbs, lost 40 lbs, and then gained back 25 lbs....all in 2 years.

    I added you.

I've never had thyroid surgery but I do take medication. Even with this they struggle to get the dose right to get me feeling back to normal....Hang in there!! I've picked up running as a new way to help me lose the last 30 of my 80...we shall c......I think if your determined enough then the weight will come off!!! Always check with your Dr. though~Good Luck!!!
