Does anyone have any suggestions on a heart rate monitor that would track my calories and also has GPS. I do a lot of running so would like to track my mileage as well as calories burned. I also do DVDs sometimes like Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30. Looking for something easy to use and set up. Do not currently have one nor have I ever so I would really appreciate your feedback. Thank you

Use the search feature and look for HRMs and/or GPS - tons of topics posted with lots of info and opinions. :)

I have been doing research but am feeling so overwhelmed! I mainly run on a treadmill but when I have a chance I run outside. I would like something with a calorie counter for running and dvds as well as gps but I am not sure that product is out there???

I'm not sure if this is any use, but two separate things might be the way forward.

If you have a Smartphone, the Endomondo app will track your routes with GPS and feed back quite a bit of information. For example, my most recent bike ride:

    Start Time - Feb 24, 2012 8:31 AM
    Distance - 3.07 miles
    Duration - 33m:52s
    Avg Speed - 5.4 mph
    Max Speed - 12.0 mph
    Calories - 101 kcal
    Altitude- 238 ft / 648 ft
(As well as giving you a marked map, and mile times)

I also recently bought a HRM to be more sure about the calories I'm burning. I find I'm usually only about ten calories out anyway, but it gives me a guarantee.

I have the Womens Sportline 1025 duo. I love it.
When I do yoga or floor work, inside, I put the watch on the coffee table near by and just wear the chest strap.
When I do my runs, I wear both and I carry my Droid in my hydration belt and use an app called "RUNKEEPER" to track my distance, elevation gain, time, routs, etc.

I spent $80 on my HRM instead of $300 on a garmin GPS/HRM. I need to carry my phone when I run anyways so it is a cost effective option.

I am due for a new phone soon and think I might have to upgrade and use the phone for gps from what i am seeing from researching and buy a heart rate monitor for calorie counting. Thanks for the information.
  • If u have a iPhone then Digifit is definitely the way to go, otherwise the most reliable is a Garmin which can get very expensive.
