  • I bought the Magic Bullet recently. Its that compact blender they sell at all the major stores like Walmart. It is the best investment EVER!! You have to get one.
My typical breakfast or even lunch is 1 Tablespoon of protein powder, half cup crushed ice, 1 med banana and a few frozen strawberries. It tasted great. You can buy different kinds of frozen fruit and play around with different ones. My kids love em, I make them one everyday afterschool.
I have one recipe posted on the food diary page, its called Debbies Orange banana smoothie, this one uses the new trop50 orange juice.

Trust me its worth the 40$ investment for the magic bullet...it has many more uses

    Hope this helps

I purchased a GT Express which is great to whip up eggs and peppers/omelets for breakfast or when ever, it takes 7 minutes and they taste really good, I have used real eggs and fake, both with great results.

Good protein plus carbs to get you going...I have mine with coffee on the way to work every morning....My 'fitness expert trainer' daughter and son-in-law (who ran a gold's gym and is a certified trainer) got me started on them.....they have double chocolate ones and new ones now are called fruitified---banana nut, blueberry, strawberry yogurt.....Im sure you will find one you love (hint....the peanut butter ones are not the best!) Wal Greens has coupons for these; Target is the cheapest place to buy. OH, you might like the snickers marathon bars, too....and they have 22 grams of protein!

Because you need protein and a complex carb at meals-

I suggest a packet of Original Oatmeal and a protein shake or make some eggs in the morning and have that with your oatmeal-

As far as protein shakes-- I really enjoy 100% whey protein in chocolate yummy-

87 for the protein powder but if I add milk...add another 150

I also add peanut butter sometimes which adds up more calories but I burn em so I earn em

you can mix it with just water if u wanted to

    protein shakes

I completely agree with Dave! So smart....

When I was in grad school, I had this breakfast literally every day of the work week - I made one on the go every morning, and it filled me up, and was one less thing to think about. I also inadvertently lost a few pounds that year... might have been the shakes!

    I did:
    - skim milk
    - protein powder (I like choc or vanilla - ask at GNC - they will tell you what is tasty)
    - frozen berries

You can adjsut the calories by adjusting the quantity. Maybe 200-300?

I've been doing this for a couple of weeks and my WHOLE family loves it!

One evening spend a little prep time and make breakfast burritos! You can use whole wheat tortillas or just the regulars (just one is not bad) and egg whites or egg substitues...or again (an egg is not that bad either) - I warm the torts, spoon in the egg, and wrap with Saran wrap and put them in the frig. You can even add some lowfat turkey sausage or bacon and salsa! I make 8-10. They keep for about 2 weeks!

The next morning, zap one in the micro for just 15-20 seconds and go! You've got a great protein breakfast and don't feel like you're on a diet! And you don't have to spend a lot of money on premade stuff.

    Good Luck!

Spread peanut butter on a slice of whole grain bread (I like Miltons), wrap it around a banana and eat it like a hot dog while driving to work.

This sounds good. Do you cook the eggs before putting in the tortilla?

I'd imagine a little fat free refried beans would be good lean protein to add also.

Great on the go.1/2 cup frozen raspberries, 1-4 oz container activia vanilla yogurt (light), 2 TBSP grape nut cereal, and 1 TBSP sliced almonds. Put in a bowl, eat on the way or in a hour or two. Stays cold because of the frozen raspberries. YUM! I have it almost every day.

I tend to alternate.... Some mornings I do protein shakes (I use Slimbody Matrix-- the mix is about 140, I add almond or soy milk to bring it to 200) I've got chocolate caramel and vanilla flavors. They are very yumm-o, and if I've got the extra calories, I'll sometimes add peanut butter and banana to the chocolate. The vanilla is fantastic, because it's good on it's own, or with fruit, or cinnamon. Back at Thanksgiving time, I even was adding pumpkin to it, that one was delish!

Other mornings, I'll have a hardboiled egg and a piece of fruit. Or HB egg with a bowl of oatmeal.

If I've got the time, I will make an omelet (ok, more like scrambled eggs, it never looks pretty like an omelet) with assorted veggies and a sprinkling of reduced fat cheese.
  • breakfast borritos

Scrambled egg with salsa and a bit of cheese in a ww tort

boiled egg chopped with a tiny bit of mayo, cheese, slice tomato in a tort

    oatmeal + 1 boiled egg

    boiled eggs and yogurt

2 poached eggs on 1 slice multigrain and turkey bacon

ww waffles with a tbsp peanut butter, no sugar added syrup and a small banana

YES! My sister and I both do this-- she does it for economical reasons (she says she gets her burritos down to about $1.00/piece if she makes them in bulk with beans, corns, and salsa) and I obviously make them for my diet. I make mine with Tam-X-ito tortillas (90 cal/piece) then I use a lot of cooked spinach, and tomatos. I scramble the eggs with Rotel (diced tomatos and peppers) and a little bit of hot sauce. You can really put ANYTHING in the wraps- turkey sausage or bacon, onions, peppers, low fat cheeses, whatever sounds good.

They are delicious, low fat, low calorie...and fast and easy!

Also for breakfast I have been eating 100 calorie english muffins with 1 tbsp. of Apple Butter spead across it. Only 130 calories. That paired with a fruit makes a pretty good breakfast.
