Good question - do you guys (in the UK) have a lot of "vanity" sizing going on?

Our "old" size 8 is now more like a 6 or even ..... 4! Sizes in the US are just crazy.

    I remember "packing" myself into a size 6 when I weighed 106 ....... now I can wear a size 6 when I weigh in the mid 130's.........

    Thanks!

yeah lot of vanity sizing going on. i find that I am a size ten in the shops aimed at older ladies, ahem, like East, my mum shops in there and their 10 is a 14 imo! but in Oasis or Top shop i'd have to take a 12. i am determined to get into size ten OASIS jeans. Get in to them, zip them up and not have a roll over the top.

There is talk of standardisation going on. I think they should scrap the size 6/8/10/12 system and just use waist measurements. like, size 28".

according to this website a uk 10 is equal to a usa 8. But here in the usa size very so much that some things are called "fashion sized" as in higher end or more name brand items are sized bigger then they should be so that people can't tell they are getting fatter because they are still in a size 4
