1200 calories and exercise

Hello,
so I am basically just starting out. I had done quite a bit of dieting before, however, I did not pay attention to my health and I had a couple of bad side effects from eating food that lacked nutrition.
Anyways.
So my question is: I am suggested a 1200 calorie diet. I have been going at it for a while but I would like to start exercising too, to get healthier, but not necessarily speeding up the weight loss. So let's say I lose 200 calories from exercise. Does that mean I have to eat 1400 calories minimum to keep myself healthy? Or am I getting enough nutrients but use up my fat stocks?
Thank you and wish me luck please
