Depends on how you want to eat. I'm a low carb person. So my macros go from 40/30/30% carbs/fat/protien to 30/35/35 when I stall. Based on my calories that could be as much as 115 gm of protien.0

Hi, I asked my trainer at the gym the same question and she said that its 40% of your total calories for the day. Also 40% carbs and 20% fats. She also suggested using a protein powder and water on my oats in the morning instead of skim milk and I have found it keeps me fuller and I love the taste, plus its an easy way to get a bit more protein in my diet. The one I use is BodyScience shaping protein powder for women. I hope this has been helpful.0

is 40% carbs considered low carb?0 -
A lot of people do the 40/30/30. My doctor recommended I do 100g a day. My hair is amazing and my nails are growing like weeds. I have heard about weight loss and flaking nails with low protein. Good luck!0

I do the 1 g protein per lbs I weigh. can't get enough of protein, muscles likes it so0

.4 grams per pound (.9g per kg) is a recommended minimum. As long as you eat the minimums for nutrition, macros haven't been shown to make that much difference, though in some studies increasing protein improves satiety and makes it easier to keep weight loss.0

ok lets see if im understanding properly there is a ratio of carbs/fat/ protein and the norm is 40/30/30, however i can increase to my liking. Are you guys finding that a higher protein diet helps the weight loss go faster ?0

thanks that help me a lot,0

Higher protein seems to keep me fuller and carbs make me gain weight. But that is just me.

No it's not but if calories low say 1200 it would be about 120g carbs which some would consider low but more moderate I think.0 -

^^This. More protein keeps me from snacking on junk, too.0 -

I do about 20-25% protein. I aim for at least 106g, which is 25% of my base calories.0

120 grams is low carb? Wow, I was doing no more than 50 but it was extremely hard so I went to 70, a little easier.0 -

There is no actual evidence for most assertions I've seen about macronutrient proportions. However, leaving out alcohol is foolish.0 -
