I do roughly about 3.5 miles (as per my pedometer) walking everyday in my 8 hours shift. In MFP, i have selected the sedentary lifestyle so I can add that as a workout.

Problem: I do that 3.5 miles in 8 hours duration. I have so far been conservative and logging it as 60 minutes of 2.0 miles/hour slow walking (as you can see in my diary). Is there a better way to log this in the system?

Please dont ask me to purchase a HRM or something, I'm too poor to even afford running shoes let alone buy a HRM (No matter how cheap they are...)

i would also go to lightly active for my base calories. Your job seems to involve a lot of movement. :)

i just rougly estimate. I made an activity for myse;f for walking at work, its less calories burned than walking 2.0mph but if ive been continually moving about for 5-7 hours im exhausted, so i'd log about 60 minutes for that. I know its not accurate and I'm sure I burn far more but i'd rather be underestimating than overestimating.

Thanks guys. The reason I dont want to switch to light active is because I make the moving happen, typically there isnt so much moving involved. However that moving happens over the period of 8+ hours...
