I just went and had dinner with my mother, brother and grandparents because my brother is going away to England for Bible College. We went to Ruby Tuesday's. I researched their menu before going and decided on what I would have that seemed the most harmless. I didn't realize that the meal came with a little slice of toasted bread. I left it till the end hoping I would be too full to eat it, which I was, but I still ate it anyway...against my instincts!!!! so when I got home I looked up that little slice of toast and found that it was 320 calories!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a little bummed with myself, but it was a good lesson for me to learn!! God's given me instincts for a reason and I should have listened!!!! so I ended up going over in calories by 250 for the day!! All because of a little piece of toast!!

oh well...tomorrow's a new day and I'm not gonna let it get me down.... but just as an encouragement to others: trust your instincts, trust your body...if you're thinking "I probably shouldn't eat this..." than don't. I'm not against treating myself every once in a while, but sometimes it's just not worth the regret I feel afterwards!!

Hey we all have our moments, the goal is to not make the moments an all the time thing. A few extra steps on the treadmill this week and you will be fine! No more of  yummy toast things tomorrow! lol

Next time, if there is a next time, when you know you shouldn't have that one little piece of toast or whatever, instead of trying to ignore it, have the waiter take it away or put something on it that will make it taste awful. For me it would be salt, I hate salty food so that would keep me from eating it. If you don't like spicy, cover it with pepper. Whatever it takes to keep you from putting it in your mouth. Try it!!!

  • I went to Fazoli's last night and did the same as you, had a salad that I planned before I went by looking up their menu on the internet. Then i had two garlic sticks and found when I got back I had consumed an extra 300 calories...then I had 3 Hershey's kisses on the way home, and in total wnet over my calories.

And guess what, I had lost 1/2lb this morning!

I don't think it hurts to give your body a little extar occassionally. So don't beat yourself up over this.
