Hi everyone! I recently purchased a Sportline S7 Heart rate monitor from Walmart. There aren't many brands available in stores where I live. I looked at a Polar one however it is over my price range :(

I have been doing some reading on HRMs but can't find much information on mine. I am hoping to hear from anyone who has one or knows anything about them.

When I set it up I inputted my age and gender. No where does it have an option for height or weight. Bow accurate would the calorie counts be for me?

I'm 5' 5", 193lbs, 25 years old. I used it tonight when working out on my stationary bike and checked my heart rate often as it does not have a chest strap.

Does anyone know how accurate the calorie counts would be with this HRM considering it didn't have an option for my height or current weight.

Thanks!!

Also, if anyone can recommend a lower priced and accurate heart rate monitor please do so. I am debating keeping this one or bringing it back so I would appreciate any input anyone can give. Thanks!

I have the womens sportline duo 1025 with chest strap. It does let me add in my age, weight and height and it is specifically for women. I think it was 79$ on sale at ****'s sporting goods (MFP is sensoring the name because its derogatory for male genitalia) lol!

I honestly would not spend less because what you end up with is less accuracy. I don't think it can accurately calculate your calories burned if it doesnt ask your age, gender, height and weight. If you can take yours back and buy one online instead that might give you more options.
