I feel like i'm going to sound really dumb, but, do you weigh heavier after a meal, i've been down two pounds all week and suddenly after dinner tonight the scales is saying i'm up two pounds, i'm not gone mad am I?

If you were holding that food in your hand and got on the scale, would you weigh more than you would without the food?
  • Yes, your weight can fluctuate a few pounds in a single day depending on the time of day you weigh, if you are retaining water, had a big meal, have swollen joints after a strenuous work-out - many reasons! It's always best to weigh yourself the same time of day, preferably in the morning before you've had breakfast. I always weight 1-3 pounds more at night than in the morning.
