Well, I've already made a couple posts elsewhere, but I guess I just figured I should at least say hi... haha.

My name's Joe, I'm 21, a student, and I work as a coffee shop barista. I weigh in at the 210-215 range, an area I'm not comfortable being in, and worry about even surpassing most days. I don't by any means feel I appear "fat", although I know I appear larger than I would like to be. I've discovered it's all an issue with confidence.

In high school, I weighed around 170-180 lbs, even going into my senior year. I played a lot of DDR to keep my weight down. The funny thing is though, I used to think I was a big disgusting fatty or something then. I hated my weight, and thought it was terrible. Little did I know I was at a much more ideal size! Haha. I haven't grown much taller since then either. A lot of times now I wish I had the mindset I do now back then, because then I am willing to bet I would feel a lot better about myself. Funny how life works, eh?

Anyhow, my goal is to get back to that weight. :-) I also overall just want to feel better about myself, and make a difference. I feel it's so inspirational to see someone get in great shape after struggling for so long. I also find that I "complain" to my friends a lot about my physical appearance, so I'm also doing this for their sakes! Haha. I don't want them to have to hear me complain anymore.

I'm looking forward to using this site for my benefit, and so far everyone here has seemed amazing and supportive, so I'm excited. It's hard to find this support even in real life.

This site is awesome! It really helps you stay on track with your eating and exercise as long as you are honest and log everything.

I used to be the same way when it comes to my weight and how I thought of myself in high school. I was 140lbs and thought I was a whale and now I'd do anything to get back to that. All in good time I guess.

    Welcome!

I've been through the same thing. I guess with age comes wisdom and perspective. Unfortunately it also comes with a slower metabolism and for me a bigger waistline
