This is an embarrassing question, but I have to ask. I had a baby last July and since then whenever I jump or run or anything like that I have leakage. I cannot do jumping jacks AT ALL and sometimes when I run on the treadmill I have to stop before I would normally because if I don't I will pee myself. I can now easily run a mile at a time on the treadmill sometimes more, but today I had to stop after 1/2 mile b/c of this problem. Does anyone else have this problem?? What can I do?? It is really hindering my workouts.
TIA!!
TIA!!

Kegal exercises! Flex the muscles you use to pass urine, stop the flow of urine, and have movements with without enough force to urinate or pass stool. do this often, every time you come to a stop sign when driving, every time there is a commercial break on tv, you set the timing. this strengthens the Muscles around the vaginal walls supporting the urethra and rectal wall. If you do not, look forward to a very painful surgery to correct the Prolaps of the bladder and repair the sagging tissue of the vaginal walls.0

Talk to your doctor. There are also Kegel exercises you can do.

The woes of child birth....of course when they get bigger like mine, you can use that against them "It's because of you and your big ole head that I pee myself when I ...." :laugh:0 -
I think it is a pretty common problem. My mom has talked about it. She says it happens with pregnancy and child birth. you might need to check with your Dr. she thinks she needs a "bladder" tack . ?0

I will definitely be working on the kegel exercises then. I do not want to have surgery for it that's for sure... thanks for your help.0

is it a LOT of leakage, or would a panty liner help? I usually wear one when I exercise anyway because I get really sweaty between my legs and it's uncomfortable having wet underwear  . and I conquer, Kegel exercises will help also.0

Kegals, Kegals and more Kegals.....I too have this same problem and I do lot's of Kegals.....I have had this my entire life and will be a candidate for the Bladder tack because it has been a life long issue; however, if you didn't have the problem prior to having children you may be able to regain the strength in your pelvic floor again with Kegals!!! Good luck!!0

I have 2 children and am now 45, i finally got tired of the leakage, it was getting worse. Had the sling procedure done, problem solved. It is a 30 minute procedure to sling up the bladder.0

this might sound odd but I have had the same issue in the past ..i havent had any children but I do think it comes from the pressure we put on our bladder when excercising or jumping especially....what worked for me was investing in a tight pantie girdle i wore under my excercise clothes..it seemed to help things stay firm and not plop so much in the lower region///0

I had 4 children, had to have surgery at 38 years old, my ob gyn told me too late about the Kegal exercises. I was told I would repeat the surgery within 10 years, Millions of Kegals later, no surgery again and I'm 53 now. Bladder infections are common too as somtimes we don't drink enough water. Do your Kegals! they work, not to mention the benefits your intimate life will see from fit muscles in your pelvic walls.0

It can also be a temporary complication after hysterectomy too, but it was temporary, and the Kegel is definitely a good idea, even if you don't have a problem now, if you are over 40, and female, consider it "insurance" against future problems.0
