Hey!
I'm curious to know what vitamins and/or supplements everyone is taking.
Also, do you find them to be helpful with weight loss or just for general overall health?
Right now I have a daily multivitamin, fish oil, and ginseng.
Tonight I just purchased some Sublingual High Potency B-12.
Thank you for reading! I'm looking forward to your replies. :flowerforyou:

I've tried almost everything over the past 16 years, CLA, Omega 3's, multi vitamins etc... I've never seen a marked improvement on health, weight loss, muscle building etc...
I take flax seed oil now just because I hear so much about it, again, no difference if I take it or don't.
I think there's a lot of money being made on these things0 -

I've heard a lot about flax seed as well. I'm hoping the B-12 will help with my metabolism. We'll see.... if not, then I learned my lesson!0 -

supplements are never a replacement for proper nutrition.
some can be toxic if you take too much..also they can compete with other nutrients, hence causing other nutrients to not be abosorbed and used. there is bioavailability..some supplements are actually not available for your body to use..it perfers it from food.
i have taken multi vitamins and flax seed oil and b vitamins...i felt no difference. it certainly wont help you lose weight..since calories in calories out is what makes us lose or gain weight.
b vitamins give you no energy, they do however act as co-enzymes to release energy from carbs/fats/proteins...if you eat meat or animal products you get plenty of b vitamins.
supplements are marketed...they are based loosely on facts and exaggerate their effects.0 -
I take Vitamineral Green. Since I don't like the taste of the powder, I take the capsules - 10 a day, 5 when I get up and 5 when I go to bed. Doesn't help with weight loss but is an incredible natural supplement that seems to give me energy. Since I eat so much crap and so few healthy vegetables, I consider this the healthiest thing I do for myself. You can buy it on Amazon. It is made by Healthforce, which seems to be one of the most upstanding companies around, dedicated to improving health over making money. I've had it tested energetically, and the practitioner testing it on her machine said it was the highest reading she had ever seen for a supplement.0

I've started taking CLA. It's working for me. I was watching Dr. Oz and he suggested taking for stubborn belly fat. I decided I would give it a try and I purchased it at GNC. I know they are expensive but u can return it and get ur money back if ur not satisfied. I've lost 6 inches around my lower stomach area in three weeks. I am very happy and will continue. I'm wanting to try the raspberry ketones. Has anyone used them?0

Wow! 6 inches in 3 weeks sounds wonderful! That is one of my major problem areas as well.
I've never heard or raspberry ketones before.0 -

B12 & Vitamin E.
Vitamin E helps my skin (=0 -
Right now I'm taking a multi-vitamin, a green tea supplement, Purus Labs d-pol (testosterone booster), Lecheek Nutrition Speed Xtreme pre-workout, Lecheek Nutrition intraTest intra/post workout, Vectron whey protein, BSN Lean Dessert casein protein, Creatine Monohydrate.
Yeah, I'm a supplement junkie.0 -
i take b12 and iron because i'm deficient, as well as a multi vitamin. I have absorption issues, so I although I try to get my vitamins and such from food, supplements are required.
Some deficiencies like iron or b12 can make losing weight harder because they contribute to fatigue and depression. I do notice a huge difference when I get a cycle of B12 injections every 6m or so and can tell when 6m is getting near and using b12 supplements is not enough. I just started taking iron so I'm not sure what benefits I will feel.0 -

Lol. Supplement junkie!
How are they working for you? Notice any difference taking them vs, not?0 -
I take a multivitamin, calcium ('cause I'm a girl), and a healthy hair, skin and nails supplement (because I'm a vain girl).

Haha! Not seen a difference, but I want to ensure that I'm getting all I need, because sometimes I eat crappy food ;p0 -
I am taking Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex. It's a food and dietary supplement for healthy growth of hair and nails. I have definitely noticed a change in my nails....slow changes with my hair.0

I have definitely seen differences. Some people don't believe in supplements, I don't think I could go back to not using them. But that's just my opinion and after years of finding out what works for me.0 -
I only ever take things when I feel my diet is lacking. Multivitamins when I haven't been shopping for a while. Cod Liver oil capsules in winter. Vitamin C to help iron absorption about once a month. Calcium with D when I remember. Occasionally iron with B complex if iron is lacking.
The only thing a multi vitamin does for me is helps with the junk food cravings. I think more of that is because I am missing some vitamin or mineral. It usually works.0 -

I have a heart condition, so I take One A Day Womens, and Fish Oils (Omega 3) to help with nutrients. I have been taking the multivitamin for years, and I've noticed a difference. I have more energy! I've switched to different brands, and One A Day is the only brand that doesn't make me feel sick afterwards. I've had blood work done recently and my doctor said it was excellent, so that's a hint that I'm getting a lot of what I need from vitamins. (I don't have the best diet ever...) Anyways, with the energy comes the desire to exercise. I'm not allowed to go to the gym and get crackin', but I walk and do Zumba! So I think I can say they can help with weight loss, it certainly gives me the energy!0

And I notice that my multi-vitamin makes gives me nausea at times. :frown:
Maybe when these ones are gone I will have to switch to that brand. Thank your for you input! :flowerforyou:0 -

Do you take your multi-vitamin with food? I take so many pills at once that if I don't eat something with it I get sick. So if you don't I would suggest to take them with a meal. Otherwise it could be the brand.0
