this is what I use to make Whole wheat pizza
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup whote wheat flour
In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and brown sugar in the water, and let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Stir the salt and oil into the yeast solution. Mix in 2 1/2 cups of the flour. ( half all purpose, half ww flour)
3. Turn dough out onto a clean, well floured surface, and knead in more flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Place the dough into a well oiled bowl, and cover with a cloth. Let the dough rise until double; this should take about 1 hour. Punch down the dough, and form a tight ball. Allow the dough to relax for a minute before rolling out. Use for your favorite pizza recipe.
4. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). If you are baking the dough on a pizza stone, you may place your toppings on the dough, and bake immediately. If you are baking your pizza in a pan, lightly oil the pan, and let the dough rise for 15 or 20 minutes before topping and baking it.
5. Bake pizza in preheated oven, until the cheese and crust are golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.
The Recipe is Jay's signature pizza crust. I change it by using half of ww flour.0 -

This is not a WW recipe.... but a healthy alternative(s).......
I have made this quinoa crust, and it was tasty! Even the man in the house ate it: http://www.tastyeatsathome.com/2011/04/simple-quinoa-pizza-crust/
I have also been tempted to try this cauliflower crust and have heard (from friends) that it is amazing too (however, messy, eat with fork/knife): http://www.eat-drink-smile.com/2011/04/cauliflower-crust-pizza.html
That one (cauli) is on my do make this week!0 -
Better homes and Gardens has a really good recipe for it, I think you can look it up on their web site or get their cok book, I would share it but I think its like copy write or something0

I buy store brand Whole Wheat Crust (thin)
Brush it with Olive Oil.
Add Pesto Sauce
Diced Chicken
FF Mozzarella
& Turkey Bacon Bits.
Bake for 10 minutes! It is the bomb & very low cal for 2 wedges (Like Dominos Pizza cuts)0 -
For a thin crust, I use the 90 calorie wraps0

It's not whole wheat, but I love this http://www.bobsredmill.com/gf_pizza-crust-mix.html - and cutting back on your gluten (at least in American culture, with all that we eat of it) is probably a good idea for anyone, gluten free or not! I've made it for my incredibly picky roommate and numerous others, all of whom have loved it!0

the cauliflower crust is really good. you have to eat it with a fork and it isn't the same as normal pizza crust, but it is a good substitute. you can also make breadsticks with the same recipe. sometimes i make pizza on whole wheat tortillas then broil them just enough to get crunchy like thin crust pizza and i am a fan of english muffin pizzas. i also made my own pizza dough using whole wheat flour or white whole wheat but i can eat half a pizza myself easily and calculated the stats on just the crust, so no more of that.0 -
I use Mission whole wheat tortillas for the base.0

I use whole wheat pita....
Take a whole wheat pita (approx 6" round)
- plain tomatoe sauce or pizza sauce
- finely grated cheese base maybe half a handful spread around
- add meat first, I use lean ham or smoked chicken (bacon if im cheating)
- then load the veg.... thinly sliced.... mushrooms, onion, green pepper etc...pineapple
- little more cheese on top
Broil on high until everything is brown and crispy.
Tastes like a thin crust whole wheat pizza @ about 300 calories per pizza.0 -
I get whole wheat pizza crust for the bakery dept of my supermarket (it's frozen). It's really good. I love it with crushed tomato, olive oil, garlic, fresh basil and spinach.0

On Friday for lent I went to the local supermarket to pick up some fresh made pizza dough. All they had was whole wheat version. I was a little leary about it at first, but I must say both myself and my wife thought the dough tasted normal and the pizza was great. We got some roasted red peppers, black olives and mushrooms. For cheese I got some shredded mozz... but also we have a brand that does rolled mozz to put stuff in and slice... well I took the roll and cut into little triangles and placed them on the pizza.... it came out great... I have pictures but I haven't posted them. Plus my 2 yr old loved making the pizza with me.0
