I've been on this site for the better part of a year and I've stuck to it then slid back over and over. Now It's LENT in the Christian calendar it's the only time of year I feel responsible enough to actually keep my goals.

Lent isn't a time to get fit and healthy, it's a time to reflect on the true meaning of the season. Don't get me wrong....everytime I want a sugary drink, take away food or unhealthy snack, I'm definently refective and thinking about the reasons why I'm doing it and it helps me so much.

Are there any times of the year you are more successful than others????

Yes, at this time of year! Lent always seems to reinforce my best intentions and it helps me remember that "Man does not live by bread alone." I also hope that it will give me a "jump start" for better eating habits after Easter. This year I have joined this website as a move in the right direction. I hope. :flowerforyou:

Not being religious, I don't partake in Lent. Nor do I believe in 'giving anything up' at ANY time of the year, but the whole of summer would see me being more successful.

    - No rain or cold to stop me getting outside and getting active (though I do have an intense phobia of wasps, I'm trying to learn to deal with it). Means I can have a lot more variety in my workout.

    - No Christmas/indulgent gifts left over.

    - Usually a tendency to enjoy the sun a little more with healthier options. BBQ items, lighter sandwiches in pub beer gardens rather than big homely pub lunches in the winter (on the rare occasions I have the spare money or inclination to go to the pub, anyway)

    - Longer days that make me feel like I'm not wasting my life in the office QUITE as much.

    - The want to wear 3/4 length trousers and t-shirts rather than jeans and jumpers.

I'm glad summer is almost here.
