Hi, not sure what you want to spend on a treadmill but I would suggest using Treadmill Doctor website seem to have fair reviews and covers all price ranges. Here is the link: http://www.treadmilldoctor.com/

I purchased a livestrong 13t.... my decision was based primarily on product reviews and being able to purchase during a 60% off sale. Also liked the 2 year parts & labour in home warranty, 5 year parts and lifetime on the motors & frame.

I would start out by buying a used treadmill. You can find people on Craigslist selling them for around $100! I have one and I find it boring :( Even watching TV doesn't help.
Maybe if I had one of those with a TV and took you on walking tours of the world and adjusted to the terrain!

^ Agreed. Fine a nice used on on Craigslist. It's about that time for all the New Year's Resolution people to start realizing they can't believe they invested in an expensive treadmill. Lol. I like for other people to buy things full price & then sell it to me for 1/2 of what they paid.

I just bought a new one from Sears last month. Regular price was 2699 but I got it for 1799. They run pretty good sales. I LOVE my treadmill. It is a Nordic Track and has IFIT built in. You get IFIT for 1 year free when you buy the treadmill. I have a 10" screen on mine and it connects to internet via WIFI. I was looking at cheaper treadmills but my husband wanted me to get a really nice one since I use it daily. I didn't argue with him! lol Anyways, I love the IFIT workouts and I can build my own trails using google maps. It makes it more entertaining to look at the pictures while I am running or walking.

I picked up a Pacemaster quite a few years ago and it's got a lot of miles on on it. My treadmill hasn't seen a lot of use lately though as I've discovered I actually enjoy running outside in winter.

I'd suggest avoiding the folding models, I had one before the Pacemaster. I liked the idea of it taking up less space but over time it became very noisy.

Buying used can save you $$ but take your running shoes and try it out before handing over your money - listen for strange sounds, check the drive belts and have a peek under the mat to check for excessive or uneven wear on the deck.

I think i would prefer outside for most of the yr, but im in florida and it gets pretty hot here. And the fact that my husband isnt comfortable with me running where we live....stinks

We got a ProForm from Academy Sports a few weeks ago and after putting it together, we discovered the incline wouldn't work. After calling them, they shipped us new parts and we are in the process of getting a technician to come repair the incline. This is great, because it took quite a while to put that thing together and if we would have had to take it back apart and bring it back to the store i doubt if I would have been an unhappy camper.
We also live in a very rural area and they had no problem agreeing to send someone out to fix the treadmill, so I would recommend pro-form based on their customer service so far.

I bought a used ProForm for $200 five years ago. Had to haul it to school to have our handy-man janitor take a look at it once (it had like dog food up near the motor, so it quit running). Other than that, it is going strong at this point. I probably put 15-20 miles a week (at a minimum) on it from October until March every year. Not so much from April thru September as I am usually walking outside during those months.
The original owner is a friend of mine. She bought it new at Sears for around $700.
