I would just like some ideas of what I should be eating before and after my workouts. High carb or protien? Or does it even matter? I'd love to get some ideas, as I have no clue what would maximize my efforts. Thanks!

Depends on your workout!
For a cardio burn, you need some carbs, so have either a banana or other piece of fruit, or a piece of wholewheat toast, about 30 mins- 1hour beforehand.
Afterwards - for a strength/ muscle workout, i love chocolate milk-or any milk really- to build the muscle cells and reduce soreness.0 -
I usually have almonds before, protein shake or coconut water after.0

Protein - it keeps the metabolism racing. I always to a Lean Protein shake after a workout.0

On the days I do cardio, first thing in the morning, I workout on an empty stomach. In the two hours immediately following the workout, I avoid all carbs. That has helped me lose weight the quickest. Avoiding carbs after the workout isn't hard for me b/c I usually workout around 7am. By the time I get myself ready and head to work, and then get settled into my job, two hours has passed. Good luck!0
