Might sound extreme, but for those of you debating on the latest and increasingly expensive running shoe technology, check out this very interesting article:

LOL my husband sent me that article yesterday. It was def. interesting and I don't doubt most of it is true... but with all the twigs, rocks, and dog poo around, I'm getting sneakers! :ohwell:0

That has always been my concern. A small pebble strategically jammed through my skin, followed by stepping in a steaming pile of bacteria :indifferent:0 -
I'm barefoot or in socks as often as possible, but I know with running I definitely need the arch support or I feel the the bottoms of my feet are tearing apart with every step. :noway:0

Hubby has them and loves them, although he doesn't run. Gets a lot of interested comments and looks when wearing them out. A guy in my neighborhood runs barefoot in the summer and wears these in the winter. They both swear by them.0 -

These look pretty darn interesting. I grew up in the country and was barefoot all the time. Since I'm just starting out running, these may be work looking in to.0 -
