Egg salad made with light mayo and mustard on whole wheat bread. 1/2 of a seedless cuke sliced dipped in 1 tbs. light ranch.
  • hummus is delicious in my book, if it's made right. It's usually made of chick peas (or garbonzo beans, same thing), lemon juice and tahini. It can have a strong garlic taste sometimes too. It's the consistency of a thick applesauce, and almost the same color.

It's hard to explain the taste. Tangy but savory at the same time. Best is to just find some and taste it! It's usually in the refrigerated section next to the dips.

Imagine refried beans, only made out of garbanzo beans, Paste like yet highly paste like! not on my list of tasty foods
  • Hummus is very good but if you are a first timer....the smoother kind. Try "Sabra" , they have different flavors. Since I love hot and spicy foods, I get the chipolte. You can eat them with crackers or on a wrap. Also if you have a Trader Joes, they have several delicious kinds to try. They are made from Chickpeas. They are low fat too! Better than mayo!

On the run, so subway ham sandwich w/o cheese and lots of veggies. The only condiment is mustard and is my favourite and is low in calories. Nutritious and fast.

MOMMA! Hummus is delicious! How could you say such things? Get the Sabra hummus from Costco, it is smoother. The sun dried tomato flavor is very good and savory.

Think about a bean paste ..dip..I for one HATE garbanzo beans BUT I love Hummus...if you love dips and garlic with a slight sesame flair..you will more than likely take to hummus..make sure you get a good brand * I cant think of the name of mine* and make sure you use a good firm cracker for your first try...*I use triscuits*:drinker: For lunch I had tuna, mixed veggies,a jello cup and soup....

Sorry I am on Red meat withdrawal, it causes you to act in odd ways the longer you are deprived! I need a bloody steak in Garlic butter fix! Possibly main line! Got a big enough needle?

it is super good, but I can't claim credit for making it. It is Athenos brand, Spicy Three Pepper flavor. I got it at Safeway, and they also have Black Olive flavor (yummy also:wink: ) They have lots of flavors, these two are my favs:heart:

To be honest, I cant eat just 4 ounces of the stuff. I prefer a porterhouse say 16 to 20 ounces. I once went to the Big Texan in Amarillo because I was sure I could eat their 4.5 pounder and get it free. my Hubby said no cause we were driving to Oklahoma.Thought I would be miserable. Well anyway. I had a Steer in highschool for a 4H project, we named him Pot Roast, need I say more. Im being good just venting today.:wink:

  • I just ate some white bean hummus from Trader joes...DELICIOUS!! its made from northern white beans. You dont know what you are missing! At first I didn't like the few I tasted so you need to try a few before dismissing them completely. I don't eat red meat or pork so I have to get my protein where I can.

Okay, I will go to trader Joe's tonite, gotta buy more Fage, but if this white bean stuff is as "tasty" as the garbanzo beans, I will tell Santa Claus you were naughty and told a fib to an old lady. I am not gonna try the Wasa crackers again, my mouth just healed up from the last time. What do you put this white bean hummus on?

Ask LuckyLeprichaun, when she was little we raised a batch of Turkeys one year for us and a few families for the holiday meals, our two turkeys were named Supper, and Dinner! I just didn't want the kids to get the wrong Idea about their ultimate destination. That is a true story!
  • Trust me I wasnt a fan of hummus at first. I had to keep trying different flavors. I usually eat hummus on crackers....almost like a chips and dip kinda thing. But recently I have put hummus on flatbread or a tortilla with turkey and ate it as a wrap. Its a good substitution for mayo. Its very good for you but of course I am a bean lover!
